Mechanically, the Kushaq facelift keeps the familiar 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine options. The big mechanical news is the new eight-speed torque-converter automatic for the 1.0 TSI, which should make the SUV smoother in everyday driving.
The 1.5 TSI continues with the seven-speed DSG and remains the stronger engine for buyers who value performance. Škoda has also kept the 1.5 TSI’s disc brakes on all four wheels, which adds confidence to the package.
